Having a health and development assessment before starting Preschool or Kindergarten helps assure that your child gets off to a the best possible start and is also mandatory with the state of Minnesota.
Early childhood developmental screening helps a school district identify children who may benefit from district and community resources available to help in their development. Early childhood developmental screening includes a vision screening that helps detect potential eye problems but is not a substitute for a comprehensive eye exam.
An early childhood screening clinic will be held in the month of November at Hancock Public School. Any family that has a child that lives in the Hancock school district that is 36 months or older and has not had a screening will receive a letter with an appointment date and more information two weeks prior to the clinic.
