July 2nd marked my first official day as your superintendent of the Hancock School District.  It is an honor and a privilege to serve as your superintendent.  I have heard nothing but great things about the Hancock School District.  I am already very proud of our reputation and accomplishments.  I am working hard to acclimate myself with the people, norms, and culture of the district.  There are things that make Hancock great, different, and unique.  I certainly want to learn everything I can.  I have no predetermined plans and I look forward to building a strategic vision and direction for the district after hearing from everyone.

The Hancock School District is planning for another great school year.  Our mission is to assure high levels of learning for all students.  The district has created a systematic process focused on student achievement.  I will have some thoughts and ideas, when it comes to plans for improvements these are things our staff will do together.  I am coming to the district ready to listen and learn.

Our building project is starting to take shape.  It is exciting to see progress everyday.  We are in the process of setting up tours to STEM labs to make sure we take full advantage of this wonderful space.  Young people’s accomplishments are the result of a great team effort.  This team effort is a the root of all student’s success, both in school and throughout our community.

Summer is a great time to reflect on our work and recharge our batteries for the upcoming school year.  I sincerely hope that it has been a pleasant summer and the coming school year will be rewarding for staff and students.  I am looking forward to greeting everyone personally.  Best wishes to everyone.
