The Hancock School provides an environment that matches our familial expectations for our children’s academic, athletic and personal development.  Teachers helping and caring for them, coaches believing and pouring into them, and peers supporting and encouraging them.  These investments have contributed to their success and allowed for a seamless transition into college and the workforce for our son.

Hancock Public School has been an incredible place for our children to grow. The teachers are caring, the class sizes are manageable, and the community is truly special. We are grateful knowing our kids are safe, supported, and eager to learn.

I was extremely fortunate to attend Hancock Public School. This school has caring teachers, an extraordinary atmosphere, and endless community support. My teachers greeted me by name and genuinely cared about me. They encouraged me to succeed and complete nearly two years of college credits. The atmosphere of Hancock’s K-12 building is a rarity that few schools can offer. As a senior, I had the opportunity to make pancakes and read books with kindergarteners. I have participated in multiple school fundraisers. The generosity and support from the community are overwhelming. Lastly, one of my classmates lived 40 minutes from school. Hancock Public School may have imperfections, but my testimony and a 40-minute drive attest that it has a second-to-none education program.

Growing up in Hancock, Minnesota, I was privileged to receive an education rooted in community, hard work, and perseverance.  I firmly believe that my teachers saw potential within me and their encouragement allowed me to achieve things that would otherwise not have been possible.  Those small-town values and support from the community have guided me through 25 years of medical practice and leadership.  I am forever grateful for the support and foundational education from my hometown that continue to inspire my commitment to lifelong learning and dedication to excellence.

Hancock Public School has shaped me into the person I am today. As a former student, I had teachers who challenged me, supported me, and believed in me no matter the task at hand. Love is felt the moment you walk through the doors! Hancock School is like a second home to me – where I have made lifelong friends and mentors who mean the world to me. I’m happy to be back home and give back to the school that gave so much to me!

I was fortunate enough to become a member of the Hancock Public School system 7 years ago.  I can tell you that in my 41 years of teaching, the support for our school and its students is second to none.  Hancock is a special place.  Thank you for supporting our school, its students and staff!

As a faculty member at HHS, I can speak to the dedication of the faculty and staff to provide a quality education to each and every Hancock student.  As a parent, I have to acknowledge the thousands of dollars that the benefit of receiving college in the high school credits have saved our family! Also I appreciate the way that our five children were given so many opportunities to become involved in ways that nurtured a wide variety of interests. As a teacher, I enjoy the collaborative nature we have as a faculty with a common goal to produce kind, well-educated, and well-rounded students.

I’ve heard a lot of great student sections and bands over the years, and the kids from Hancock are as great as they come.  Tremendous spirit, everything positive, so much fun.  Picked up their instruments to play at halftime, sang “Take me Home, Country Roads” acappella.  Outstanding.  Great behavior by fans needs to be appreciated and applauded. Well done Owls!

From the very beginning, we’ve been welcomed with open arms. The teachers and staff go above and beyond not only in the classroom, but in how they engage with families in the community. They know the students by name, families support each other, and there’s a shared commitment to helping kids grow academically, socially, and emotionally. We’ve been especially impressed with the communication from teachers and how they partner with parents.  We’re so grateful for the dedicated educators and the strong community that makes this school feel like home.

I appreciate a good pep band, whether it would be a high school event or college event and this is a shout out to Hancock, Minnesota High School.  Your pep band tonight at the boy’s basketball game against Brandon Evansville was phenomenal, absolutely phenomenal!  And to the 4 boys who sang the National Anthem…kudos to you! That was one of the best renditions I have ever heard. So, great job!

Hancock has a very engaged community that wholeheartedly supports the school's education, extracurricular activities, and fundraisers.  I like Hancock because it is small enough that I know and can make connections with all of my classmates and teachers. The education is good and there are a lot of college credits that are available to reduce the number of general credits you have to take in college. Most of the students participate in the school activities, which contributes to the fact that I really enjoy going to Hancock school.
